Sudoku Puzzles #233-#236

by: Dan LeKander

Published: February, 2025

Another month and another opportunity to excel at Sudoku. Just the other day a reader asked me if I solve all puzzles in my article before publishing them. The answer is yes. It takes solving about 10 puzzles to find one for my articles. Hope you enjoy the puzzles this month.

[Editor's Note: Gee Dan, these are fun - some really do stump me, but I use my iPad and a sudoku program and can easily copy the numbers in to begin the TI Life puzzles - what is not easy is solving them but it keeps me away from the fridge!]

Puzzle Preparation

Prior to utilizing techniques 1-8, complete the 5 Steps of Puzzle Preparation:

FILL IN DATA FROM OBSERVATIONS
FILL IN OBVIOUS ANSWERS
FILL IN NOT-SO-OBVIOUS ANSWERS
MARK UNSOLVED CELLS WITH OPTIONS THAT CANNOT EXIST IN THOSE CELLS
FILL IN THE OPTIONS FOR THE UNSOLVED CELLS

Clueless?

We start with a Sudoku puzzle in progress, where it appears that there are no more obvious or not-so-obvious clues. Can you find the hidden clue in Puzzle #233? Make sure you find the clue. Missing a clue like this will cost you a great deal of time in solving the puzzle.

Puzzle #233

(The answer follows the conclusion of Puzzle #236, the feature puzzle for this month)

May the gentle winds of Sudoku be at your back,

Dan LeKander, Wellesley Island

Clue for Puzzle #233 … Check out row 8. C4R8, C7R8, C8R8 & C9R8 are limited to options 2,3,6 and 9; therefore, C1R8, C2R8 and C6R8 are limited to options 1, 4 and 8. There is already 1 and 8 in column 1; therefore, C1R8=4.
