More Smiles from Paul!
by: Susan W. Smith
Paul Reichert joined our TI Life Team this summer. He has already sent a number of cartoons for us to enjoy in our From the Editor and Paul's smiles. But this month, he wrote to say he was doing more on the art scene.
This past summer, the Thousand Islands Arts Center in Clayton, NY (tiartscenter.org) mounted an exhibit called “Reel Art: A Community Catch.” They invited local artists to use any medium or style to transform a blank wooden fish into a piece of art, to highlight the individuality and creativity of the artists in the Thousand Islands.

I submitted a hand-painted fish with the “Tale of Two Rivers” cartoon, which was included in the exhibit and even sold on the opening night. It was my first exhibited piece and first sale at an exhibit, and it was even more meaningful to do it through the TI Arts Center, which is a fantastic institution and resource for local artists. The whole exhibit was excellent and demonstrated all of the rich and unique creative talent in the Thousand Islands. A few photos of my painted fish and the exhibit are also attached.
