Thank You Gretchen

Thank you Gretchen for writing the book and for sending me my copy. My mother would not be pleased to see I am typing this note, rather than writing in cursive on my nice note paper and mailing it to you. But I have to say this seemed like a nice way to thank you on behalf of this editor and our readers for I want everyone to know what a great little gift that you have given to all of us.

The book is not big, and it follows in the format of your other books. This one reads like a tour of our little town, Gananoque, ON and as you explained in your phone call, a Tribute to the town you love so much.

I wish I could share all your poems with our readers; but I will let them read them own their own.

So, which were my favourites? Sigh. I wish I could tell you that deciding was easy - but it was not. Each one spoke to me, as it will no doubt for others who grew up or who live in this little town in the Thousand Islands.

I end this letter hoping that you will keep writing. My mother would have said how much she loves your poetry, how each photograph gives a vivid picture of the town, and I agree! Thanks Gretchen, very much.

Sincerely,

Susan W. Smith, Editor, https://thousandislandslife.com/
