John Peach 1949-2026
Easter 2026 and communities along the St. Lawrence River in the Thousand Islands are mourning the loss of John Peach, former director of Save the River. Numerous news outlets, including the Watertown Daily Times, NPR Radio, Facebook, and various newsletters, published acknowledgments highlighting the significant contributions this individual made for future generations.
I have had the pleasure of receiving over two dozen articles written by John over the years all describing important environmental issue for the River or giving us personal history. I hope our readers will take the time to revisit some of them.
Two of the most recent TI Life articles were not written by John, but rather thanking him for his service.

Certainly hard to decide which articles were my favourite. They are all worthy of appreciation - enjoy.
So my friend the long hard battle has been fought. So many of your friends have commented on media articles this past week explaining you were well liked for your wisdom and your friendship. Thanks once again.
