I Take Your Hand in Mine .... and Ignite Your Imagination
For thirty-five years, Theatre Kingston has been a corner stone of the city’s Theatre scene, presenting innovative, productions and showcasing the city's creative professional talent. This year, the company upholds this longstanding tradition. The 35th season features a 25th Anniversary production of Craig Walker’s adaptation of FINNEGANS WAKE, inviting a new generation to experience Joyce’s complex masterpiece. We will revisit the fun we had with Bottle and Glass, by bringing Roddy Doyle’s TWO PINTS to the Kingston Brew Pub, and we will be challenging ourselves in collaboration with Kingston’s own Deaf Spirit Theatre to bring you a new work, in ASL, HANDS IN THEIR POCKETS by Rosemary Doyle.
But first, from Nov 12 – 22nd, in collaboration with the Chekhov Collective, Theatre Kingston brings you I Take Your Hand In Mine by Carol Racamora. Starring Theatre Kingston Alumni, Richard Sheridan Willis (who we loved in Boy Beatle, These Deeds and Happy Days) and the Artistic Director of the Chekhov Collective, Rena Polley. This is a play suggested by the love letters of Anton Chekhov and Olga Knipper and traces the passionate relationship between the world-famous dramatist and Russia's leading actress.
NOTE: Rena Polley will present a workshop of the Chekov Technique entitled "Ignite Your Imagination" on Sunday, November 16th, from 10:30 AM – 4:30 PM. Theatre Kingston is offering the course as a Show and Workshop bundle. For information, click: https://www.theatrekingston.com/store/p14/IGNITING_THE_IMAGINATION_Chekhov_Technique_Intensive.html
