Forever Plaid

Watertown Lyric Theater presents "Forever Plaid" - June 12-13, 2026

Get ready to take a nostalgic trip back to the 1950s as Watertown Lyric Theater proudly presents the beloved musical revue, Forever Plaid, at the historic Strand Theater from June 12-13, 2026.  This "deliciously fun" production tells the story of four young singers—Sparky, Smudge, Jinx, and Frankie—who met their untimely end in a 1964 car crash on the way to their first big gig.  Now, they have miraculously returned to Earth for one final performance to fulfill their dreams and harmonize once more.

Featuring close-harmony barbershop arrangements and pitch-perfect melodies, the show is a heartwarming tribute to the "guy groups" of the 1950s.  Audiences will be rolling in the aisles as "The Plaids" execute charmingly outlandish choreography and squabble boyishly over every intonation.  The score is chock-full of classic hits, including "Three Coins in the Fountain," "Heart and Soul," "Moments to Remember," and "Love is a Many-Splendored Thing".

Forever Plaid is written, originally directed, and choreographed by Stuart Ross, with musical continuity supervision and arrangements by James Raitt. This production is presented through a special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI).

Performances are Friday, June 12, 2026 at 7:00 pm, and Saturday, June 13, 2026 at 2:00 pm and 7:00 pm.
