Days Past, An Artist's Representation
The Leeds and 1000 Islands Historical Society (LTIHS), located in Lansdowne ONT, was formed in 1992 and incorporated in 1994. The organization preserves and promotes the rich history of the Township of Leeds and the Thousand Islands in Ontario. They are sponsoring an event this fall featuring "The Wood Shepherd", Revenerend Stephen Shay entitled "Days Past, An Artist's Representation".
Stephen Shay's creative life has spanned over 80 years. He grew up on New York’s Keuka Lake and on the St. Lawrence River. His art career started out by doing pencil drawings on reams of typing paper, colouring with finger paint and crayons, then painting with milk paint and acrylics. Later on he studied design and drafting. These days he does art on wood.
The Reverend Shay is a minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and a former US Marine. On his business card it says, “Working Wood while Following God.” Jesus was known as the Good Shepherd; his professional name is “The Wood Shepherd.” Mark your calendar for what promises to be an inspiring event in September!!!
